Know something we don't?
Update: Tokio is closed and is now Ecco.
It’s not quite like partying in Japan, but Tokio offers good dance music in a laid-back atmosphere. The food isn’t stellar—you can definitely find finer sushi elsewhere. But the music, which ranges from house earlier in the week to hip-hop on the weekends, is often good and the scene is attitude-free. The dancefloor isn’t very large, but it’s always packed--thankfully, there are plenty of tables and booths to which one may retreat when it becomes overwhelming. Smoking is permitted in the club, so if cigarette smoke bothers you, think twice (or make frequent trips outside).
Update: Tokio is now closed in order to make way for a new concept bar, Ecco, opening in late October/early November.
