For a small space on a street lined with small theaters, Dragonfly can get pretty raucous. It's got a huge dragonfly painted on the outside, so it's hard to miss. Inside, the energy (and activities) is hard to forget. Miss Kitty’s Diskotek and Cabaret is a monthly carnival filled with cheeky go-go dancers, people in costume and lots of glitter, make-up and on occasion, mud (the night is known to host female mud wrestling). Thursday nights are a little more mellow at the long-running reggae party Jamaican Live, but things pick up again at The Spazmatics’ Sunday night when the ’80s cover band rocks out to a perennially packed house. Performances by fledgling local bands round out the rest of the nights.
