Times Description

Located inside the Music Box at the Henry Fonda theater, Blue Palms Brewhouse promises beer lovers a reason to leave the house this year.  Formerly the more lounge-like Blue Palms, owner Brian Lenzo has stripped the bar down to the essentials (gone are the lounge-y sofas and the dreadful carpet...Lenzo discovered original terrazzo floors from the 1920s after pulling the carpet from the bar's original incarnation as the Blue Palms Cafe) and even added a few new surprises.

The focus now at Blue Palms is, of course, beer.  24 beers on tap here mean you'll never have to drink the same brew twice (we like the Firestone Union Jack or the Russian River), and they even have a full bar for those who don't indulge in microbrews.  New massive Panasonic plasma televsions dot the bar with impossibly high ceilings, making Blue Palms one of the best places in Hollywood to catch an NFL game this fall.  The bar will actively court sports fans (although it is certainly not a sports bar, if you are looking for the best football bar in the area, check Hollywood Billiards) this fall with promotions like "kegs and eggs" on Sundays for early East Coast games.

The televisions will also run live feeds of concerts from the adjacent Music Box, meaning patrons won't miss a second of the action (or, if a show at the Fonda is sold out, early arrivals might just get lucky and be able to watch the gig for free on closed circuit TV from the comfort of a cozy barstool).

Food will be served at Blue Palms, with upscale bar fare the rule of the day.  Think burgers, steak, a nice Ruben on rye or even an update on a classic: Kobe beef spaghetti and meatballs.

I recently checked out the Blue Palms with some friends. We were serching for a place in LA that we could hangout and have beer, totally casual. Well we found that and alot more at the Blue Palms. The beer list is insane and they change it all the time....

The brewhouse is finally here! And it exceeds all expectations. 24 beers on tap, one cask engine, and a very interesting bottle list makes this a beer-lover's paradise! I had the Stone 08-08-08 on draft, which was released the same day the brewhouse opened as well as the Saison Dupont....

Good atmosphere, good food, good service. Really though, what's to debate? It's the only place that does what it does (ie - actively seeking out,...

This place is killer! If this was my neighborhood bar I'd be in trouble. The way a bar should be! Stumbled on BPB meeting group pre-DSO show at Fonda....

Good bar, great beer. Atmosphere is relaxed and they've got shuffleboard. Don't really need much else, ya know?! They're really putting in work on the beer...
