A restaurant and bar that slowly morphs into a dance-club on weekend and let’s-pretend-it’s-the-weekend evenings, Club Sushi is full of both raw fish and raw energy—the first pickled with lemon juice or vinegar, the latter with small pitchers of sake and big bottles of Sapporo. Essentially one big, bright, brick-walled room located across the street from the roaring social inferno of Pier Avenue’s final, pedestrian-only block, Club Sushi is an appropriate place to get an evening in Hermosa Beach started. With a full menu of sushi, sashimi, hand rolls and cut rolls—ranging from $5.95 on up to the dreaded “market price”—it’s also a fine place to finish it.
Not only is it the best sushi in the South Bay, it has the best bar scene. Lots of beautiful people...
I went to Club Sushi for the first time last Friday. The place was packed with a great crowd. Not once it did slow down, which was probably one of the reasons we ended up staying for hours. The food was great ... they have everything from sushi to pizza...
I had dinner at Club Sushi tonight and the salmon tasted very fishy - as if it were sitting there for several days. I told the management at the restaurant about my experience and he only offered to take a beer off my bill, instead of the $14 sushi roll...
