Rosy's Bakery & Cuban Cafe

This cafe is beloved by the South Bay's growing ex-pat Cuban community for its authentic cuisine and friendly atmosphere. Try a traditional Cuban pressed sandwich (ham, cheese, mustard and pickles on Cuban bread) or for lighter appetites the medianoche, a smaller version of this sandwich served on thinner bread. The lechon asado sandwich -- crispy crackling pork, basted in mojo and served on slightly sweet Cuban bread -- is also a favorite. Sandwiches come with thin, crisp, lightly salted plantain chips. And you can wash it down with any number of Cuban sodas. Rosy's is also a bakery offering cookies, cakes, pudding, flan, creme brulee and a host of other sweets, including the traditinoal dessert of a large piece of bread coated in congealed butter and topped with sugar. It's simple but tasty.
