Best bars in northeast L.A.

Know something we don't?
While you may no longer be able to buy illicit thrills here (the bar that used to occupy 3408 Verdugo Rd. was a notorious dive bar), you can instead settle into a corner booth and order up a barely legal frothy London Pride on tap. Verdugo originally opened in October of 2007, but was forced to shut down (permit issues) just weeks after they opened. The cozy hideaway, owned by former Bar Marmont and Match employees, is now open nightly.
Parking is free on the sidestreets and typically readily available. Make sure you check out the patio here, as it's spacious and the bar usually has a different person serving up unusal food in the back (everything from sushi to home made Jambalaya).
