L.A. Beaches: North to South
Picks by Liam-Gowing
Know something we don't?
Just off of Pacific Coast Highway, north of the Malibu Pier, is a gorgeous, mile-long, secluded area of beach front known as Point Dume. The point is just south of Zuma Beach and the casually wealthy neighborhood you have to drive through to get to the point is where Bob Dylan, among others, lives. And it's easy to see why. Drive down to the beach, then hike up to the fenced area at the top of the hill. It's an easy climb. You can see for miles in all directions. Drop just a little bit down onto the rocks and soon you'll have waves crashing at your feet. It's windy and chilly no matter what time of year, so try to make it out during the heat of the day. However, the sunsets, as you can imagine, are spectacular. In fact, so's a full moon. Very romantic. Good place to propose. -- Elisabeth Belile
