About
The Walter Muckenthaler home was designed to resemble a classic Italian Renaissance villa. Built in 1924, the home was donated to the city of Fullerton in 1966 for the purpose of establishing a center for the visual and performing arts along with education classes. The center is on the list of the National Registry of Historic Buildings. Situated on 8.5 acres of hilly terrain, the grounds feature an Italian garden, gazebo and outdoor amphitheater. These areas are used for specific programs and can be reserved by the public for private functions.
The gallery features rotating exhibits open for public viewing. Exhibits have featured the work of Fullerton-area artists and work created by the students in Fullerton schools. Special programs are sponsored during the summer and fall and have included the performing arts series held in the amphitheater.
