Know something we don't?

The stark, contemporary Beverly Boulevard storefront of Angelini Osteria is noisy, crowded and full of energy. All around us, the beautiful and the ravenous are...
Opened in 2001, this charming, unpretentious Italian restaurant – run by acclaimed chef Gino Angelini – has been serving traditional Italian fare to hungry Angelinos for eight years. An Osteria is traditionally an Italian village restaurant, where friends and family gather for simple food, good wine and the comfort of each other’s company over a game of cards or a chess board. Chef Angelini’s eatery may not have the card games, but it does have the country ambiance and no-frills approach to good food preparation down cold. The interior is low-key and understated, with small tables, ambient lighting and low-backed wooden chairs.
Fresh, locally-sourced ingredients are used to craft the delectable menu, which includes such fare as pumpkin tortellini with butter, sage and asparagus, Dover sole Romagna style with garlic and parsley breading and grilled lamb chops allo Scottadito with arugula salad. Pizzas and salads are also available if you have a lighter appetite. The weekly specials are an affordable and delicious option for those on a budget. An excellent selection of imported Italian wines are available too. If you’re impressed with you mean don’t forget to take home a bottle of Gino Angelini’s Amatriciana Sauce, available for just $8.95. --Jason Gelt
