About
The Health and Fitness program affiliated with Los Angeles’ Mayor’s Day of Community Service is designed to inspire women ages 16 and over to stay healthy and find enjoyment in exercising. Health workshops will be offered in the following categories: self-defense, aerobics, yoga, dance, jump-rope, a demonstration of convenient exercises for daily practice, as well as a nutritional eating workshop that will focus on simple ways to eat healthy while on the go. Lunch and entertainment will follow at Los Angeles City College. Transportation between the two venues will be provided to all participants.
The Mayor's Day of Community Service is a compilation of city-wide service projects that are geared towards residents of all ages. This year’s health and fitness workshops are co-sponsored by the Los Angeles Commission on the Status of Women and by the Los Angeles Derby Dolls, the city's original women's roller skating league.
