About
Everyone complains L.A. lacks a center; this tour tries to explain why. Part of the "Reyner Banham Loves Los Angeles" series, this tour rolls through the center of L.A. exploring its intentional depopulation in the 1950s and its current rebirth. Featured locations include the Title Guarantee Building (with its Hugo Ballin murals), the Angels Flight Railway, Pershing Square and a lunch break at Grand Central Market. Meet outside Philippe the Original, home of the original French Dip sandwich, then explore the back alleys and unbeaten paths that make up LA's diverse and rich downtown. Check in is at 10:30 a.m. for a 11 a.m. sharp departure.
