Originally built as a top-of-the-line haberdashery in 1928, The Cicada Club retains many of the elements created by the original designers and artisans. The nightclub features a mezzanine with its own Art Deco bar and lounge that overlooks the main floor. The opulent dining and showroom is set off by giant old-growth oak columns that feature pairs of angels holding bells and a spectacular gold-leaf ceiling.
On big band nights ($30-$40), Dean Mora and his 20-piece orchestra serenade partygoers with the top big-band tunes of the 1930s and '40s. The evening concludes with an after-party in the Oviatt Building penthouse. Vintage evening attire encouraged.July 27:
