The will of the people may not mean much in electoral politics, but when it comes to baked goods, every vote counts. At the L.A. Cupcake Challenge, the baking gloves come off as 15 of the city's top bakeries including Lark Cake Shop, Vanilla Bake Shop, Hotcakes Bakes, BabyCakes Baking Company and My Little Cupcake square off to determine cupcake supremacy.
Sate your sweet tooth alongside celebrity judges like LA Weekly food critic Jonathan Gold and KTLA entertainment reporter Sam Rubin while sampling and judging the fluffiest, richest, most decadent mini-cupcakes in three categories: traditional (chocolate, vanilla and red velvet), original (anything goes) and overall. A dozen varietals of wine will be available to cleanse your palate. And to make it even sweeter, the bake-off benefits the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
