About
From Skid Row to once-genteel Crown Hill, this tours spans the haunts of L.A.'s favorite barfly and dirty old man, Charles Bukowski. These include bars and liquor stores (of course) as well as the downtown library, where Bukowski discovered the writer who most inspired and influenced him, John Fante. The tour is hosted by Richard Schave, one of the forces behind the recent campaign to have Bukowski's one-time bungalow on De Longpre Ave. in Hollywood declared a historic monument. The May 31 edition of this tour, timed to coincide with the Book Expo, features a special guest: John Dullaghan, director of the documentary "Bukowski: Born Into This." This Esotouric tour departs from Arnie Morton's promptly at 5 p.m.
