Guacamole Festival

Let's face it. Tortilla chips exist solely as a carrier device to transfer guacamole from bowl to mouth. So why not cut out the middleman at L.A.'s first (and hopefully annual) Avocado Community Street Fair, a small festival dedicated to all things avocado. "Every single food you know will be served with avocado," says festival director Napoleon J. Medina. When you're not gorging on nature's butter, enjoy carnival rides, games and a smattering of local musicians. Or if you believe the ancient lore about its aphrodisiac powers, eat a humble aguacate and unleash the beast within.
