About
Esotouric leads this walking tour through what was once Bunker Hill, a downtown LA neighborhood "teeming with immigrants, criminals and dreamers," among them author John Fante. In his five-novel cycle written over 60 years -- "Ask the Dust," "Dreams of Bunker Hill," "Full of Life," "The Road to Los Angeles" and "Wait Until Spring, Bandini" -- Fante introduced the world to his literary alter-ego, the outspoken Arturo Bandini. Follow in his footsteps to the Goodwill store, King Eddy's, Clifton's Cafeteria, the Los Angeles Library's Reading Room and the Post Office Terminal Annex. Author Stephen Cooper will be signing his book, "Full of Life: A Biography of John Fante," at Skylight Books after the tour.
Please Note: Check in is at 10.15am for a 10.45am sharp departure from Skylight Books. This tour includes several walking sections, including one hill, through parts of Downtown. Walking shoes and sunscreen are advised.
