Best brunch spots in Miracle Mile/Fairfax district
Judging solely from the weekend crowds outside West 3rd Street restaurant Toast, it may seem like the only brunch spot in the area. In fact, there are tons of eateries from Fairfax to La Brea where you can eat a delicious brunch without having TMZ's cameras in your eggs benedict.
Even though it's down the street from Toast, the ambience couldn't be any more different. There might be a slight 20 minute wait on weekends, but the quaint French atmosphere and giant latte cups are well worth it.
Despite a recent incident involving salmonella and the restaurant's hollandaise sauce, BLD is still a reliable and often busy brunch spot. The ricotta blueberry pancakes are delicious and their coffee is strong and satisfying.
A seat at one of the coveted outdoor tables may require a wait, but you can always pass the time browsing the charmingly rustic housewares at Maison Midi or the vintage racks at American Rag.
Newly expanded, there is now more room to enjoy Joan's new breakfast menu which ranges from soft boiled organic eggs to gelato-filled brioche buns.
Whether you're watching what you eat for health or vanity reasons, Mani's menu is entirely organic--the bakery even offers several sweetener substitutes such as agave syrup and organic cane sugar.
People debate over whether this busy Beverly Blvd. eatery is actually good or if it's highly overrated, but I think the chicken cilantro omelette and the strong, savory coffee deserve a thumbs up.
One can expect Jar's signature succulent roasts at its Sunday brunch. Dig the pot roast? Try it with two eggs and potatoes.
The weekend brunch is a little on the pricey side, but there's a reason why it's an L.A. classic. Suggest going for mom's birthday, so pops can pay for it.
Since it's open 24 hours, brunch can be had at 3 a.m. on a Tuesday. Sweet.
The food may border on average, but the packed sidewalk tables make it a great people-watching spot every weekend .
