Amber's Chicken and Donut

Hidden in an unassuming Encino strip mall, Amber's makes some of the best fried chicken in all of Los Angeles. When you order fried chicken, they warn you right off the bat that it will take about 15 minutes; Amber's doesn't cook their fried chicken until you order it. They use a technique known as "broasting"; whatever that entails, their chicken emerges tasting perfectly light, crisp, golden and succulent. They also make killer onion rings; thick, hearty broasted potato wedges; smoky ribs (beef and baby back pork) and delicious fried jumbo shrimp. The donuts are tasty but pretty standard.
