Don't let the prototypical A-frame exterior of this burger joint fool you -- this is more than the usual greasy fare. The home-cured pastrami has foodies flocking to Colorado Boulevard, understandable even for the expanded version topped with crash cart-courting pickled cabbage and gruyere cheese. But the Oinkster offers more than porcine pleasures. The burgers rival those offered by many local gastropubs, and the Belgian fries have a following of their own. Less well known is their rotisserie chicken; a plain but moist, barely seasoned and slightly wet-brined golden bird a la carte with a garlicky aioli is $8.75 and can be accessorized with typical American sides such as coleslaw and fries. Take into account the Fat Tire on tap and you're practically at the York in Highland Park except with harsher lighting.

This restored and updated former drive-in has ample indoor/outdoor seating with umbrellas out front and its own parking lot.
