While The Chalet ranks amongst the better dive-chic bars here in LA, it gets a whole lot better as one of the eastsides bars. It maintains a good amount of pretentiousness, while keeping the comfy eastside feel.
Great dimly-lit corner bar vibe. Has a local, dive-y feel without being grungy. Interior resembles the Dresden without the kitsch. Unassuming, eclectic, non-yuppy crowd. Decent jukebox selection; maybe a bit heavy on classic rock.
