New Year's Eve dining guide

Know something we don't?
Another feather in the Patina Group’s cap, Nick & Stef’s Steakhouse is a city-slicker version of the old Midwestern steakhouse geared towards the after-work crowd. Located in the courtyard of the Wells Fargo Center on Bunker Hill, Nick & Stef’s puts the windowless steakhouse of old to shame with a large patio bar that gets packed during happy hour. Inside, you can’t miss the glass-walled dry-aging chamber where cuts of beef hang from the ceiling. Sure, the menu offers daily seafood specials and vegetarian dishes, but the thing to order here is red meat -- steak, to be specific. Early birds can sample Nick & Stef’s on a budget during happy hour when the usually pricey fare is, well, somewhat less so.

the steaks were ok but at these prices they need to be great. the wine list is very good. service is so-so. overall i would recommend the bar more than the food.
We started off with some awesome Paul Hobbs 2003 Napa Valley cabernet with Oysters on the half shell, sashimi and crabcakes. The ribeye is excellent and we finished off with some BV cab and a classic Silver Oak cab.
