Know something we don't?
L.A.'s oldest taquito-ría. Since 1938.
It's all about the taquitos at this institution. Taquitos with beans and guacamole, taquitos with tamales, taquitos with chiles rellenos -- you get the idea. Wash it all down with drinks such as a cool Horchata, or tamarindo, and you'll be ready for more food.
The small restaurant is really more of a stand than anything else, but they have a couple of small tables inside -- most people lean up against the building, go eat in the plaza, or get it to-go. Expect lots of tourists here, but local residents, Red Line riders, and folks from across the bridge also frequent this spot.
Very low-key, simple menu. Don't expect anything fancy here, but it certainly exemplifies cheap and delicious. Go shopping in the tourist stalls after your meal.
Parking tip: cross into Chinatown and walk back.
