From taking in the Lakers, the Clippers, the Kings or, dare we say it, arena football, to basking in the glow of the biggest pop acts in the land, Staples Center is one of Los Angeles' newer multi-million dollar venues. Like any luxury box-laden arena, the nosebleed seats leave a little to be desired. Thankfully the sound system will keep everyone in the room happy when Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan or Shakira hit the stage. There will (soon, allegedly) be dining and nightlife options at the leviathan LA Live complex, but for now, head north and west into downtown. We suggest Woodspoon before and Broadway Bar after the show. Parking is an arm and a leg nearby on event nights, so if you don't mind walking down some blighted downtown alleys, it's better to go street closer to the historic core.
