Know something we don't?
The architects of the old Globe Theater on Broadway would probably twist in their graves if they could see what has become of their classic, historic structure. Despite utilizing many of the building’s original design elements, such as the gold-trimmed alcoves and balcony booths, Club 740 has mongrelized and modernized almost everything that was once classy about the address. Yes, there are three levels capable of delivering three different genres of music simultaneously, go-go platforms and VIP skyboxes, state of the art lighting and sound, five full bars and an outdoor smoking patio. But on the flipside, there’s a $20 cover charge, bottle service with prices that could turn a hardened souse into a teetotaler ($175 for a bottle of Tanqueray and $320 for a bottle of Stoli) and a brash crowd of hedonists that brings new meaning to the phrase ‘the decline of western civilization.’
