A Selection of L.A. Wine Bars

Know something we don't?
Super relaxed beer and wine bar. They carry over 600 wines in the cellar (about half domestic, half imported from all four corners), and each and every can be opened for your pleasure (though two-drink minimums apply to some). On the beer front, expect about 40 ever-changing bottles. Some standouts: Deus from Belgium—crafted in the French style, it appropriately arrives in a champagne sized bottle and offers up tight, small bubbles—and the organic Germanic Pinkus Pilsner. Bottle Rock likes to support locals, meaning it’s one of the few places to find the fine product of the Craftsman brewery (three dudes in Pasadena) on tap. The Rock also serves some tapas such as roasted almonds and truffle grilled cheese and caprese with farmer’s market heirloom tomatoes and burrata cheese. For just a little something, try various cheese plates—mix and match from choices like Saint Vernier stinky and the Umbriaco del Piave aged in wine.
