Miss L.A. Chinatown will be on hand to perform the traditional ceremony at the L.A. Chinatown Moon Festival, a Chinese holiday that celebrates the autumn harvest. Fill up on mooncakes or learn how to make your own. Chinatown's Phoenix Bakery will teach festivalgoers how to make the holiday's signature dessert, a small, dense pastry filled with lotus seed paste and a salted egg yolk. Mongolian acrobats, a Chinese candelabra contortion act, a demonstration from the Shaolin Warriors of Chinatown, children's activities and traditional food round out the bill.
