Opened in August 2006, this location of the venerable Venni Mac's M&M Sould Food, not to be confused with plain old M&M Soul Food, serves home cooked soul food in a family style environment. The restaurant offers seafood gumbo, catfish, fried chicken, collard greens, macaroni and cheese, candied yams, beef short ribs, oxtails and cornbread and is known for its sweet potato pie. The other two Venni Mac's ocations are in Lakewood and on Centinela Ave. in L.A.

So what's the difference between Venni Mac's M&M Sould Food and M&M Soul Food? Accordingto Venni Mac's website: "The McCallum family founded M & M Soul food Restaurant over 37 years ago when Mary McCallum-Stewart brought her Mississippi home-style cooking tn the West Coast. Her brother, Ventress MeCallum, bought one of the three restaurants marking the beginning of Venni Mac's M&M Soulfood Restaurants."
