Warped Tour: Technical problems dog Say Anything

There's not much to say about Say Anything's first Warped Tour set except: better luck next time.
Savaged by technical problems, the emo sextet was reduced to playing only a handful of songs -- the final two solo efforts by frontman Max Bemis, who handled the sticky situation with as much aplomb as could be expected. "This didn't happen to Angels & Airwaves," he said, referring to the band that preceded him onstage.
He thanked the audience profusely for its patience. And his solo renditions of "Baby Girl, I'm a Blur" and "Walk Through Hell"? Pretty darned memorable.

It wasn't a technical problem that stopped the set. It was a hissy fit by guitarist Jake Turner. His guitar did stop working for a few minutes, but after a bit of effort, it did reappear, at least in the audience's mix. Nevertheless, Jake walked off stage leaving Max up there by himself (q. why didn't the rest of the band back Max up and/or continue the set?). The fact that a professional band could not pull itself together for a thousand poor kids who paid $30 dollars each, drove to Pomona and stood in 110 degree weather all day to see them is sad. Max definitely stood up to the situation, but the others? Very unprofessional.
