Times Description

This mini-chain of Brazilian restaurants serves fresh, plentiful and well-made food, even if it does suffer from a little case of identity crisis. Along with traditional marinated meats, coxhina (fried minced chicken) and bauru (a popular Brazilian sandwich), they serve carbonara, Mexican shrimp and … beef stroganoff? Yes, the menu is big and unpredictable, with just about anything you could want – burgers, pastas, salads and grilled meat entrees. Somewhere in between the prix fixe Fogo de Chao and pay-by-the-pound Pampas Grill, this eatery is casual and quite reasonable. Most agree the plaintains, cooked to just the right amount of crispy while remaining soft inside, are a delicious addition to any meal, and there’s great pão de queijo, or cheese buns, at all the locations. For dessert, the special – a glorious combination of fried plaintains, ice cream, chocolate syrup, caramel and whipped cream – is pretty sinful. Perfect for teetotalers, this location doesn’t serve any alcohol (you can bring your own for no charge).

TIPS: The menus differ from location to location, and sadly you won’t find the tasty pizzas at this one. Parking is traditionally bad on this stretch of Beverly; look for the public lot down the block.

I prefer the location over on Pico and Sawtelle over the one in Beverly Hills because this one is tiny. I'll have dinner at the Pico location, but not the...
