Know something we don't?
UPDATE: The Stork closed as of October 2008 and is now H-wood.
Talk about a special delivery. Grace Fernandez, Loyal Pennings and John Terzian have given birth to what is sure to be a hot hang this summer. Tucked away discreetly on Orange above Hollywood Boulevard, the Stork (pictured) will bring post-industrial chic (DJs here play on a set-up made up of blocks of concrete) and sophistication to Hollywood. "All the windows were sourced from New York," says Terzian, who tapped longtime friend DJ AM (who is also a minority partner) to be the bi-level bar's musical director.
Exposed brick and concrete are everywhere throughout the 8,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor lounge, but the Stork still exudes warmth, with cozy furniture and multiple areas to explore.
Fernandez, who once helped run Hyde, promises a tight door, and the menu is being overseen by Steven Arroyo of Cobras & Matadors. The restaurant portion is now open (think classics like fish & chips or their updated BLT--or small plates such as hearts of romaine); expect the bar action to heat up later this summer (a star-studded Maxim/X Games party took place here in late July).
Cocktails are cool, Cuban-influenced and uncomplicated here; with the signature drink ("The Stork") consisting of vodka, triple sec, lime juice and orange juice.
Tip: you can either park at the Hollywood & Highland parking complex or snag a meter on Sunset Blvd.and Orange and walk up a few blocks. There is no parking on Orange above Hollywood Blvd., so don't even think about trying to find a spot (it's all permit parking).
They do have valet at Stork or you can also valet park behind the Roosevelt Hotel, which is just across Hollywood Blvd. But it's much cheaper to just snag a spot at the Hollywood and Highland complex (plus, that way, if you get too drunk to drive you can leave your car overnight with no feelings of remose towards the valet guys who still have your keys at the stand while you are still drunkenly chatting the object of your affection for the evening).

This place is run by my a friend of a friend, and given the hype, I thought it would be great...it was not. Here's why: 1) Unfortunately, i was disappointed with the crowd. The women were not as attractive as i'd hoped. They were too young, avg looking and seemed...
