The Patio at the BCC doesn’t have the cult-like status of its neighbor, the Standard Hotel’s rooftop bar, but that just might be because the word hasn’t gotten out yet. Located on the fourth floor roof deck of downtown’s flashy ’80s-era icon, the Bonaventure Hotel, the Patio at the BBC was recently reinvented as a Miami Beach-worthy escape complete with comfy clusters of outdoor couches and an (almost) one-of-a-kind view of the Downtown skyline (the Standard provides similar vistas.) Drink-wise, there is an ample wine list and cocktail menu, but the thing to order here is beer, which is brewed by a master brewer at the adjacent Bonaventure Brewing Company. Can’t choose from the 20 varieties of beer on tap? Order the “Taster Set,” which includes five handcrafted ales served in five ounce tasting glasses and pairs perfectly with small plates off the $1.99 happy hour menu.
