Formerly the Hollywood hotspot Las Palmas, LAX is the airport-inspired nightlife venture created by owner Loyal Pennings and celebrity favorite DJ Adam “AM” Goldstein. The layout hasn’t changed much—the dancefloor and two outdoor patios from the Las Palmas days still exist—but sleeker, futuristic touches have been added to give it an “aero-chic” look. Brent Bolthouse ruled the roost when the club first opened in 2005, instantly making LAX an A-list spot. Though Bolthouse is no longer there, young Hollywood still frequents LAX thanks to Steve Aoki’s Sunday night Banana Split party, where AM, along with other special guest DJs, regularly spins.
