Venice and Marina Del Rey have earned a reputation for laid-back bars where you can pretty much come as you are. Every now and then, though, it’s nice to dress up a little and hit a happening spot—that is, without having to drive all the way across town. Glow is that spot in the Marina right now. Situated in the Marriot Hotel on the corner of Admiralty Way and Washington Blvd, Glow is an outdoor patio bar with comfy couches, water features and slick décor that attracts what is probably the most well-heeled customers in the area. It’s big enough that the noise level from the burgeoning crowds is never overwhelming, so you can actually have a conversation with someone in a normal voice. Prices are a little high, but you can save money by skipping the valet and parking on a nearby side street.
