Located at the foot of the Chateau Marmont, Bar Marmont is a more accessible counterpart to the hotel’s restaurant and lounge. Entrance is right on Sunset and the vibe is more glam gastro pub than haughty haute cuisine. Prices, however, reflect the latter—patrons have been known to balk at the double-digit price point for cocktails as well as the $18 weekend valet fee. The food and service should hopefully make up for it. Chef Carolynn Spence of New York City’s Spotted Pig fame strummed up a short menu of flavorful bar food (including her famous potato chips), all served by gorgeous waitstaff.
