It’s a mod world at Area, whose mid-century modern décor and nightlife pedigree have made it one of L.A.’s most celeb-tastic hotspots. Owned by nightlife impresarios Sam Nazarian and Brent Bolthouse, Area mirrors its clientele: young, beautiful and well-connected. The club’s interior consists of an open layout with white leather Barcelona chairs and wood columns surrounding the dancefloor. Booths line the outdoor portion, which is separated from the interior by sliding glass walls. Cocktail waitresses donning black shift dresses and white knee-high boots deftly navigate through the crowd, which usually consists of the girls from MTV’s “The Hills” and their hangers-on. Entrance into Area still remains challenging for those without a hook-up or a double-D cup, so purchasing bottle service is still the best bet, especially for groups of guys.
