Know something we don't?
After several delays, Eco-friendly lounge Ecco has arrived.
Formerly Tokio, Ecco touts itself as Hollywood's "first eco-friendly" lounge. Owned by longtime promoter Danny Bitar (and former Club Lingerie owner David Stratton, Matthew Portnoff and Rob Roedel), the bar has been completely transformed from the dive-y, vaguely Asian themed bar it has been for years into a "green" haven.
What does that mean for bar-hopping hipsters on Cahuenga? Well, for starters, free valet if you roll up in a Prius. Ecco boasts energy-efficient LED lighting, a slick all-black design scheme, organic cuisine (beginning later this fall), and "state-of-the-art environmentally friendly materials." Oh yeah, even the bathrooms here are "green" (the bar will use waterless urinals).
The whole transformation was captured by Discovery channel cameras (the bar was featured on Discovery network's new Planet Green channel, formerly Discovery Home network, on a show called "The Alter Eco"), but before you go thinking Ecco will be some sort of lush paradise for green-obsessed yuppies, remember that Danny Bitar loves good dance music; and his crowd may not change all that much. That means deep, dirty and sexy house vibes (a weekly house party takes polace here) for a party crowd at Ecco, which fans of dance music are already flocking to. The space's best attribute? The multi-colored, energy-efficient, state-of-the-art LED lighting system that lights up the dance floor ceiling every night. We also like the spacious back patio here, which is very social (and smoker friendly). We don't like the bottle service only tables that line the outside of the dancefloor.
Bring your dancing shoes, and your reduced carbon footprint.

A - OK suits Ecco Lounge.. had a decent time, but not a great great time. Small club w/lots of little rooms. Nowhere to sit unless you get a table....

Went here recently with a few friends of mine for a halloween costume party. We had a hookup to get in free but no one was dressed up outside... uh oh. But...

Just wanna add to my comment about their lighting: I hope the owners of Ecco have a chance to check out Cobra in Toronto, or at least youtube the lighting...
