Peter Blake Gallery

From a local and national perspective, count this among one of the more respected galleries in the county. Specializing in contemporary and modern works by California artists, Peter Blake has presented several historic shows by established and emerging stars.

Blake opened this Gallery Row showroom -- his first -- five years ago when the number of serious contemporary exhibit spaces in Orange County was slim to nil. A recession later, the gallery continues strong, garnering reviews from national and local critics. Blake also claims wall space at a pair of restaurants in town: 230 Forest Avenue and South Coast Plaza's Bristol Bistro. As for the gallery, look for the cropped pencil-thin reeds standing at attention in a box planter near the door. The stone floors and white walls make this the quintessential gallery space, but it's art, not flora, that you're here to see, right?
