Mo Van's oils are the stuff of spontaneity and energy. She lavishly uses brilliant colors in impressionistic scenes inspired by France and the Mediterranean. The effect, and the sunny lighting overhead, has earned the gallery the nickname "the happy place" from regulars and strangers alike.
Strengthening that happy spirit are ongoing guest artists Michelle Postal, Gloria Bradeson and Anne Kipke. "We're all women," notes Van, who can often be found in the gallery. Besides Mo Van's originals, find lithos on canvas, lithographs, tapestries and ceramic plates.
Mo Van Gallery is located on the ocean side of Coast Highway along the Laguna Beach stretch known as Gallery Row. On weekdays, metered parking is usually available on the street. As for weekends, you might have to hike it from a nearby residential road -- Rose Apodaca Jones
