About
Margo Leavin is one of the Los Angeles art world's true royal figures. Her style and mannerisms bring comparisons to Diana Vreeland. She's oft-considered the Grand Dame of the West Hollywood art scene. Get the idea?
Naturally, her gallery in the heart of WeHo is gorgeous. Several rooms offer different lighting conditions; it is a great way to see an artist's work. At Margo Leavin you will find some of the best: conceptualist John Baldessari, painter Roy Dowell, the incomparable Alexis Smith, video artist Tony Oursler, painter Steven Prina and so many more.
Visiting
The gallery is located in the heart of West Hollywood at 812 N. Robertson Blvd., at Santa Monica Blvd. Gallery hours are Tuesdays through Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Parking may be tricky, but it's worth the hassle. Street parking is restricted in most of the neighborhood, but there are a few pay parking lots in the area.
Dining and entertainment
You'll find numerous restaurants within walking distance of the gallery. Bossa Nova Brazilian Cuisine, located on the south side of Santa Monica Blvd., serves up moderately upscale Brazilian and Latin American food in a fun and casual setting. Mason Jar Cafe is a popular neighborhood eatery specializing in brunch food and vegetarian cuisine. For no frills pizza, you can check out Greenwich Village Pizzeria, which serves New York-style pies at reasonable prices.
