About
Theatrical plays, paintings, live music, sculpture, photographs... No form of expression is out of place in James Iansiti's namesake studio. This is a grass-roots effort at its most infectious and stimulating.
Iansiti, like the artists he features, is still struggling. But unlike many artists, his entrepreneurial spirit assures that hard times don't keep him at bay. While much of the art bears his own name, Iansiti generously offers up space in his industrial park warehouse to fledgling artists and then takes care of operations and promotions himself.
The openings are a down-home affair, with entertainment by bands composed of Iansiti's friends and a potluck provided by the exhibitors.
Get there early (parking is a bit of a hike), and have a heart and pay the cover. The charge is less than a movie, and it keeps the place running and the artists off the streets. -- Rose Apodaca Jones
