About
This 3,000-square-foot multimedia space is devoted to the cause that art is alive.
Akin to a New York warehouse gallery, the two main rooms showcase contemporary works by nationally recognized rising artists. They also host some of the area's more rousing events, which explains why the gallery usually attracts as many Angelenos as locals. The surrounding fashion industry holds charity benefits here, and an annual Vespa/Lambretta scooter rally is among the largest in the state.
The gallery's tireless owners, Charlie Yoon and Dana Keene, somehow find time in their busy schedules of back-to-back shows and parties to run the framing side of the business and finish their own ongoing art projects.
Yoon is the former owner of the Black Market Gallery, widely recognized for giving new artists a break. That tradition of outreach continues here, with nights open to poetry, photojournalists and kids' art groups. -- Rose Apodaca Jones
