Father's Day dining events
Dad has been pretty good to you over the years. He's assembled your tricycle, put a bandage on your knee, and heck, maybe even paid for your college tuition. Thanks, pops! Show him you appreciate all of his hard work and give him the gift that keeps on giving: take him out to eat. No doubt, feeling full beats a tie any day of the week. The roundup below lists restaurants offering special dining deals on Father's Day, so sit back, relax and unbutton your jeans.
Patina Restaurant Group is offering one of the mightiest dining deals for Father's Day. Visit any of their participating restaurants--Nick & Stef's, Zucca Ristorante, Cafe Pinot, Pinot Bistro, Pentimento, to name a few--and receive 15% off your next meal. If you're up for the drive, head to Patina Catering at the Cerritos Performing Arts. From noon to 4 PM, they will be hosting a hand crafted beer and cider tasting. Enjoy the afternoon eating appetizers and sipping on beer with pops.
Want to skip a meal and go straight for the booze? Beachcomber in Malibu is hosting a "I'd Rather Have Beer" Father's Day Brunch. The brunch includes a draft beer, glass of champagne, mimosa, peach bellini or orange juice, soda or coffee. Guaranteed, daddy will be pleased.
Blvd 16's Gentleman's Brunch is a great way to lock in your slot as dad's favorite spawn. Brunch includes BBQ flank steak, huevos rancheros, biscuits and maple sausage gravy. Pops can wash it all down with the male version of the bottomless mimosa--an endless glass of beer.
On Sunday, Breadbar, Century City's local artisanal bakery, will be offering a prixe-fixe lunch ($18) and dinner ($23) for dads and the kids that love them. Both lunch and dinner menus include spicy chicken lollipops, garlic ginger fries and short rib brisket sliders with shishitou pepper. Note: bring the wet naps.
Enjoy Father's Day at L.A. Live and eat at Fleming's Steakhouse with dad for just $29.95 a person. On Sunday, the restaurant will be offering a brunch menu, serving up items such as celery root and spring onion soup, filet mignon benedict, smoked salmon quiche and berry cobbler. And you won't leave the restaurant empty handed! Fleming's will be extending a complimentary $25 gift card for dad to use on a future dining visit.
Gus's BBQ will be hosting a Soutern themed brunch, where dads can enjoy mint juleps, gravy and biscuits and chicken and waffles. Traditional brunch items will also be available.
Cozy spot La Cachette is serving a Father's Day menu for brunch. The three-course meal includes dishes such as roasted jumbo prawn salad with smoked duck prosciutto, roasted rack of lamb and stuffed Gran Marnier crepes.
In addition to their regular menu, La Grande Orange in Pasadena will be serving a special menu item for Father's Day: lobster tacos with rice and beans and made-to-order tortillas for $29. You should bring along the whole family. When ordering from the children's menu, kids eat free before 6 PM.
If you're looking for a classy day with dad, head to the Langham for their Distinguished Dad's Brunch. At $105 a person, you'll be sure to enjoy some of the finer foods in life.
If dad is a fan of sauce, then go to Le Merigot where they will be hosting a Father's Day BBQ. $35 a guest, the menu includes Angus beef burgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, and of course, corn bread. Bring your bib.
This spot at the Grove will be extending a special Father's Day brunch menu. Order the eggs benedict or a "bloody cart" Bloody Mary. Dad needs to grow some hair on his chest.
Chef Brendan Collins welcomes you to treat and toast your father with the family and some jazz in the beautiful courtyard. Brunch will be served family style with pastry baskets, a waffles station, oysters, shrimp cocktail, Quiche, strip loin, roasted chicken, roasted vegetables, banana toffee tart, and Palihouse's infamous chocolate muffin.
Royal/T, everyone's favorite Japanese maid cafe, will be providing deals on special menu dishes like the steak & eggs ($16), East or West burger ($12-16) and the Bourbon pecan pie ($4). If dad purchases a good ol' meaty burger, he even gets a free beer.
For those who are too lazy to venture 5 miles down the road to the beach, Rush Street will be importing sand to thier rooftop area for Father's Day. The man-made sand box is a great way to keep the kiddos at bay while dad can slam one of the complimentary beers (limit one per papa). The dude-inspired menu includes breakfast turkey burgers, eggs benedict sandwiches and fried eggs doused in a sambal hollandaise. There will be an afternoon sandcastle building competition for the wee-ones, too.
Celebrate Father's Day at L.A.'s last remaining winery and experience a gourmet meal with, of course, some wine. This weekend, San Antonio Winery will be serving a Father's Day menu with delectable entrees such as the lobster ravioli, fresh sea bass with vegetarian risotto and a 16 ounce Porterhouse Steak. Now that's a gift dad will like.
Take dad to the beach and stop by Sapphire Laguna for a late breakfast or early lunch. The restaurant is serving up a $45 three-course Father's Day meal with tasty choices like the Kobe burger with fire-roasted poblano, tempura onion rings, Peruvian walnut chicken and caramel pecan torte. After the meal, step next door and check out the Pantry to stock up on cheeses, prepared salads and wine.
