Thanksgiving meal deals
If you simply can't face the packed grocery stores, panicked customers and your hot kitchen, fear not. A slew of class-act restaurants have stepped up to offer succulent Thanksgiving meals for under $50.
Offering traditional Thanksgiving dishes as well as the restaurant's trademark plates, Five Crown's holiday menu includes oven-roasted Tom turkey with fresh herb and chestnut dressing, mashed potatoes and giblet gravy and Yorkshire pudding. Other entrees include beefsteak Neptune and broiled salmon. The menu is priced a la carte, prices range from $32 to $45.
French cuisine meets the Pacific at 71 Palm, where chef Didier Poirier brings the tastes and traditions of France to coastal California. However Chef Poirier would like to encourage you to eat at home by offering a scrumptious take-out menu affordably priced at $25 per person. The menu features herb-roasted hen turkey with cracker stuffing, French green beans with roasted garlic confit, homemade mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce with Grand Marnier, and a red delicious apple tart. Place your order at least seven days in advance.
The price is right at this classic Restaurant Row standby where you can enjoy a signature prime rib dinner for between $32 and $49, or a turkey dinner for $29.

This boisterous downtown restaurant will serve up a special Italian-style Thanksgiving meal including unique dishes such as duck crepes, chestnut flour pumpkin ravioli, braised beef, and pumpkin flan. $39, $19 children 12 and under.
Another feather in the Patina Group’s cap, Nick & Stef’s Steakhouse is a city-slicker version of the old Midwestern steakhouse geared toward the after-work crowd. On Thanksgiving you can nosh on hand-carved turkey with a choice of brioche and sage, or cornbread and raisin stuffing served with all the fixings. 4 p.m. to 9 p.m., $32, $19 for children 12 and under.
Visitors can stroll or hike through 160 acres that include forests of oak trees and camellias; a native California plant section; an International Rosarium; a lilac grove; a Japanese garden and a teahouse; a bird sanctuary; and an art gallery inside the historic Boddy House mansion. Celebrate Thanksgiving with Brazilian flair at this South American steakhouse. Feast on Brazilian-style stuffing and roast turkey, turkey gravy with Champagne, mashed sweet potatoes, and a hot and cold salad bar. 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., $41, $23 for children.
