A feasting frenzy
Around this time of year my inbox becomes stuffed like a turkey with tantalizing Thanksgiving Day dining options. The elaborate menus are rarely cheap, but when money isn't an issue--if even just for a day--it's good to know where you can get a decadent holiday meal without messing up the kitchen yourself. The following meals cost more than $50 per adult.
Chef and owner Akasha Richmond's eponymous, eco-conscious restaurant is celebrating its first Thanksgiving since opening. Richmond intends to make it a special one by offering a prix fixe Thanksgiving dinner from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. The food--including Weiser Farms buttercup squash soup, slow-roasted turkey and farmers market green bean casserole--is all organic, local and sustainably sourced. The cost is $55 for adults and $30 for children 12 and under.
“Top Chef” host Tom Colicchio has bestowed Century City with a dining experience worthy of its top-tier expense accounts. Which is exactly what you'll need on Thanksgiving in order to afford the $95 price tag of this delicious holiday meal. On the menu: Celery root soup, butternut squash and sage, dry-aged Brandt beef rib-eye, sausage raisin fennel stuffing and sugar pumpkin pie. 2 p.m. to 9 p.m., $45 for children 12 and under.
Thanksgiving guests can enjoy simple, hearty dishes including pumpkin soup, heritage turkey or Suzanne Tracht's signature pot roast. Desserts include pumpkin pie, pecan tart and apple crumble. $52, $26 for children under 12.
The menu for the annual Thanksgiving dinner includes crisp pork belly and beans, Kobacha squash gnocchi, shell fish stew of mussels and mustard, and bay leaf-brined Shelton turkey. $58, $20 for children.
Leave your apron at the door during Le Merigot Beach Hotel and Spa's Thanksgiving dinner, which includes roasted organic turkey with cornbread pecan stuffing, maple-yam puree and creamed corn or black pepper crusted filet mignon. 12 p.m. to 10 p.m., $75.

Bring the family or just your sweetheart and fill up on a four-course meal including options such as roasted apple salad, grilled quail, roasted Angus prime rib and old-fashioned apple cobbler. 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., $90, $45 for children 12 and under.
Enjoy a four-course prix fixe meal at this classy downtown restaurant within walking distance of Disney Hall. Menu highlights include Pacific opaka fillet with toasted almonds and polenta fries; and black currant and chestnut rissole with honey ice cream. $55, $30 for children 12 and under.

The new look is glam in the renovated lobby of the venerable Hyatt Regency Century Plaza, a Los Angeles landmark for nearly half a century. The Century City hotel, which is undergoing a $30-million face-lift, has counted presidents, prime ministers and Hollywood celebrities among its guests. Now they can count you too when you come to enjoy their "Storybook Thanksgiving Feast." Get your buffet-style meal in culinary chapters called "Turkey Tales." Chapter one is fresh-shucked Blue Point oysters, chapter six is apple cider and molasses-glazed oven-roasted Tom turkey, chapter eight is lemon-roasted green beans. You get the idea. 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., $65, $28 for children under 12.
